How to Make a Spool Bookcase

Reusing items and giving it second life is the best purpose for doing DIY crafts. With our resourcefulness and imagination we can make use of things around us.  It’s very satisfying to know that you are recycling things and helping the environment in your own little way. This DIY project is another example of how to can use something for a different purpose.

If you are a bookworm then you can make use of this project. You can transform a spool into a stunning bookcase. Here are the things you will need:

• Spool

• Caster wheels

• Wooden dowel

• Measuring tape

• Paint

• Saw

• Molding glue

• Drill

• Screws

Paint the spool and the wooden dowel with the same color of paint and let it dry. Attach the caster wheels at the bottom of the spoon using the drill and screws. Measure space on the spool and this will be your basis in cutting the dowel and with glue position it in place. Check if all the pieces are assembled properly and securely.

Now you can gather your books and place them on the spool bookcase. Since the top part of the bookcase is flat you can also use this as a small table where you can place other small things.
