The latest update of Firefox (FF 17.0) has brought in the new Social API which brings the Facebook Messenger into Firefox and allows you to check Facebook Notifications and chat from the browser on any webpage without opening Facebook.
This move has left many Socially tagged web browsers like Rockmelt which were specially designed to integrate Social Networking into daily web browsing. As always Firefox likes to give its users many choices hence this feature is highly optional and doesn’t come as default with the latest firefox update. You have to enable it manually.
How to Enable Facebook Messenger on Firefox.
